I think the most noteworthy piece of "news" from me is that I completed a new song last week. The song is called "Always" and I wrote it in memory of my "Auntie B."

I can honestly say that it's the first song I've ever written that made me cry just about every time I worked on the lyrics. Thank GOD the guitar part is really "peppy", otherwise I don't think it would have ended up being a song I could play, much less share with anyone. So yeah - writing this song was H.A.R.D., but since I've completed it...I've felt a bit...I don't know - happier I guess. Not that my Aunt's death is anything to be happy about...but it's like writing the song has helped me to feel a little less hopeless about ever feeling better about it––having a nice song to think of regarding my Aunt, and one that focuses on the beautiful person she was is definitely a good way to help me to not dwell on missing her.

Anyway - if you have a desire to hear the song and/or read the lyrics, you can do so here.

What else, what else, what else?

Oh! We've had the nieces' birthday season for another year in May (Elysia) and June (Mia). Both girls seemed to have great birthdays with their family there to share it with them. :)

Had a good 4th of July weekend in spite of Amanda having to work a lot of it. Went to see Gazpacho play at the Rochester Fireworks pre-show. Wish we could get out to see them more often!

Speaking of live music - I'm toying with the idea of playing an open mic night in the near future. Yikes! I'm hoping to do one at the Red Hook. They have them every Wednesday night from what I understand. Maybe we'll go down tomorrow night and check things out to see if it's way out of my league or not.

If I can think of anything else I'll add it to this, but for now that's all my tired self can come up with. :)
